The last project for the class is the final paper. You will be able to select from two topics. Biodiesel and hydraulic fracking.

The paper will follow the informal/short report format as described in Chapter 8. The report can be informative or analytical.

The biodiesel topic should consider how it is produced, its viability as a fuel source, performance as compared to petroleum diesel, and its impact on system components and warranties. You can develop the communication objective and the content focus to take the paper in any direction you wish.

The hydraulic fracking (for oil and natural gas production) topic should consider the process, results, cost, long term viability and environmental issues. You can develop the communication objective and content focus to take the paper in any direction you wish.

| will be the target audience for the paper. As you know from your prior papers, | own equipment that uses diesel fuel, have some knowledge of haw diesel systems work, deal with problems in these systems, but don't have formal training. | have done some work as a well driller. (many, many years ago) | understand well drilling and have have an interest in the fracking process as a way to address our need for petroleum but | am also learning more about the environmental issues. | am not a geologist and don't have hands-on experience with fracking.
