OVERVIEW

The goal of the current assignment is to summarize and describe key issues concerning the practice of neuropsychological assessment as well as to approximate the experience of delivering an oral presentation in front of an audience.

 

Neuropsychological assessment is used in both research and clinical settings in order to investigate how the human brain works and how to help people diagnosed with neuropsychological diseases/disorders. This assignment will provide you with an understanding of how neuropsychological assessment is conducted and utilized for both basic and applied purposes.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

 

Presentation Content

 

Regarding the content of your presentation, you will utilize the following sources: 1) the textbook, 2) the course presentation(s), and 3) at least 1 additional peer-reviewed, scholarly source to address the following issues:

 

e The goals of neuropsychological assessment

 

e Atleast 3 chief issues that changed/shaped the current practice of neuropsychological assessment

 

e The stages of neuropsychological assessment (putting theory into practice)

 

e In addition to the above issues, choose one neuropsychological disease/disorder, describe its main diagnostic criteria/clinical features, and briefly discuss one neuropsychological assessment test or tool that typically is used to diagnose or evaluate it.

e Follow current APA formatting guidelines for title, citations, and references.

 

e Make sure that the sources on the references slide(s) match the sources cited in the body of the presentation.
