There is no one good personality theory. Existentialist, Psycho-analytic, Humanistic and Eclectic perspectives are all good perspectives. How do the behaviors associated with this disorder differ from similar behaviors considered normal in American culture?

People are more easy going and they do not like restrictions. Sometimes, getting a little late or not being obsessed with simple things is alright with us. But with someone who has OCD, that is a night mare.

This disorder can be treated best by allowing the person to see that being late to a place or meeting that is not very important, or locking the doors or windows only once in a house, is alright, without involving him or her, i.e. making this person see that there are other ways of doing the same and that things go fine. Cognitive behavioral therapy and relation therapy can both be useful in this situation.
