I searched using the following keywords 'funding for unaccompanied children, ' 'Grants for immigration Non-profits,' and 'Foundations that support immigrants.' The second search strategy involved searching for organizations that provide funding for immigrant children on the Charity Navigator database and the Open Philanthropy Global fund for children database. The searches yielded about 40 potential organizations that gave funds directed toward helping unaccompanied children and immigrant families. The search criteria were used because they generated a large number of potential funding organizations at the same time and also gave related links. Appropriate grants were selected based on whether they fund grass-root organizations. The selection criteria also considered if the organization supports projects worldwide and is not restricted geographically. The HHS is, however, was state-funded and was excluded from the selection criteria. A list of 20 potential donors was found on the Funds for NGOs website and was shortlisted based on whether they give grants in the USA. They will participate in various ways, such as responding to questions, giving their views, for example, on the issues they want to be addressed, and also creating a need for the assessment. The next stakeholder would be the government. It will be useful in several ways. For instance, the government can provide security to the organization members by collecting data from the community members. For instance, government reports can provide statistics on homeless children, children going through domestic violence, and even the number of unoccupied children present. It can also fund the assessment or provide essential equipment to be used in the project. Other donors, such as the organization funding the grants, are key stakeholders in the project. The children's home is the main stakeholder for it proposed and is implementing the assessment. The methodology to be used in the assessment I will use several methods to complete the assessment. Several methods of data collection will be used to collect the data required for this assignment. For instance, I will use both qualitative and quantitative methods of information gathering. Community members who are giving secondary care to unoccupied children and can read and write will be requested to fill in a written questionnaire, while those who can't read or write will be interviewed face to face and in the language they best understand. Focus groups will also be held to compare information gathered from all sides. Observations will also be used, for instance, to make a note of the conditions that such children have been going through. Comparisons between kids that are occupied and ones that are unoccupied will be made to determine the validity of the project need. After data collection, methods of data analysis, such as hypothesis testing, will be used to analyze the collected information. Interpretations will be made, and various methods of data presentation such as graphs and charts will be used to clarify data to involved stakeholders. This is where the people to perform the various tasks in the assessment will be identified and grouping to be done. For instance, one group will be established to collect data, while another one will be established to analyze the data and interpret it. This will make work easy. The next step in completing the assessment will be identifying resources and engaging community partners. Identifying the required resources will help the business prepare effectively and avoid delays. Engaging society will ease the process of data collection and project implementation. The next step will be gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to the involved stakeholders by the team in charge. Solutions to the identified problems will then be recommended, and the community assessment document will be prepared. The assessment will then be complete. Instruments to use for the assessment A survey will be the first tool to use to complete the assessment. This tool is best known for assessing community weaknesses and strengths (Ward, 2016). The survey too to be used will be simple since it will target a small group of people, that is, the unoccupied children. However, this tool will require careful planning. The second tool to be utilized will be asset inventory, where information about the community affected by the Children's home of Poughkeepsie affects. For instance, the data collection team will walk around homeless kids who will later be proven unaccompanied or not. The third too of use will be community mapping. This tool will help identify people's different views and perspectives about the group involved in the assessment. A map of the community is drawn, and marks are put on visits, and mapping can be done during formal or informal gatherings as long as the key stakeholders are present. The schedule will have a specific target for every team member that should be accomplished by one day. Identifying the daily schedule of the communities involved in the assessment will help the team get the required respondents and at the right time. This will improve the process of data collection. The last tool will be the seasonal calendar. Seasonal changes, for instance, in the labor industry, are likely to affect labor mobility. Mobility is directly related to the decrease or increase of unaccompanied children. Therefore, the tool will be important in identifying and analyzing such facts.
