Introduction I chose the auditory sense because I have a family member who is hearing impaired, and I have witnessed how being hearing impaired has made life more challenging for her compared to her sibling. Imagine a world without the ability to hear? How do you think you would function without being able to hear the world around you? Unfortunately, that is the reality for 6.1percent of the world’s population, which is approximately 466 million people worldwide according to the World Health Organization. Our ability to hear the world around is essential to our survival because hearing allows to be aware of our surroundings.
