MS Access

Course Project

Instructions:

There are four tables in the “Registration System” database. Following are some specifics.

• Always choose the appropriate field type based on what you have learned in the course.

• Always use captions to make the forms, reports look good.

• Always use good appropriate format masks, like for the date/time type for startTime and endTime use medium

time in the input mask property. Don’t forget others like phone number.

• Notice the relationship table below and here are a few specifics

o In the Section table (see screen shots below):

? ID field: is a lookup wizard from the courses table

? Days field: is a lookup wizard where the values are typed in, enter:

• MWF, MW, T/TH, F, S, DL

? Room# field: is looked up from the Room table.

? Instructor: is looked up from the Faculty table, remember field names don’t have to be the

same, but the field type and data stored does, notice faculty ID in one table, yet instructor in

another table, yet the same data.

o In the Faculty table, the city field is a lookup wizard field where the cities are typed in, and the state is a

default field, TX. Type in the cities: Arlington, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Fort Worth, and Hurst.
