It may be surprising to find a chapter on career development in a book written for first-term college students

Writing

It may be surprising to find a chapter on career development in a book written for first-term college students. Certainly, beginning college and beginning a career are events taking place at different points in time and are different life transitions. However, the process of exploring career options and developing career-entry skills should begin in the first year of college.

Chapter 14Thriving at Trident, covers how early career planning gives beginning college students a practical, motivational goal to strive for and gets them thinking about how the skills they are developing in college are relevant to their success beyond college. Thus, career planning is a form of life planning, and the sooner that college students start the process, the sooner they start gaining control of their future and start steering it in the direction they want it to go.
Please note that there are two parts to this assignment, and you will submit both in a single MS-Word file. You will download the Career Planning worksheet, complete, save, and upload to the Dropbox.

Next, reflect on if you have worked in or are working in a similar job. If you have not, that is okay. Use the job description to help you. In 4-5 sentences, what do you think are or will be your strengths and weaknesses in working in each position? Lastly, explain whether you agree or disagree with the interest assessment findings.
